Jose Jackson Guadamuz at the Hidden Garden Art Gallery

José Jackson Guadamuz is originally from Santa Cruz, Guanacaste, with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Costa Rica. Throughout his career he has been awarded in contests from institutions like the Costa Rican Center of Science and Culture, the painting competition "My family and my homeland 1993," the Costa Rican-American Cultural Center, Fausto Pacheco New Values 1995, "Guanacastequidad and Environment 2007" Reserva Conchal, and MEP Santa Cruz, Gte.

José has exhibited his art, scenic and mural in San José, Guanacaste, Limón and San Ramón de Alajuela. In the academic field José did an internship at the University of Salamanca, Vigo, Spain, 2002, and had a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport 2007 to develop the project pictorial "The Joy of the Sun." José is currently working as lecturer at the University of Costa Rica at San Ramon de Alajuela in the Department of Painting and General Studies. He has also been interested in studying the science of art therapy, with workshops that target young people and older adult communities where the university has social action projects.
