Born in Seattle, Washington, artist Carla Knoche became fascinated with photography when she lived in Germany as a young girl and traveled throughout Europe, using her parents camera to capture so many sights. Her surroundings and parental support encouraged her to pursue arts both in school and through mentors. She would spend much of her time in art galleries whether she was in the U.S. or in Europe. After emigrating to Costa Rica in 1996, Carla explored the nature surrounding her: an abundance of beautiful plants, animals and people. Wanting to share her experiences of awe and wonder, Carla found herself picking up paint brushes, mixing colors, and expressing herself and the feel of treasures she saw on canvas.
