Juan Carlos Ruiz Soto
Artist Juan Carlos Ruiz Soto was born in San Jose on August 10, 1974 and raised in the rural areas between San Carlos and Tilaran. His playground was the family farm where he also learned the characteristics of farm work, which is why interests were piqued by nature and open spaces. His primary studies were conducted in small rural and secondary schools in an agricultural college, and contact with the arts was given in the early years of the university where he began studying his engineering career in 1991, but quickly switched his primary focus to arts and painting. Juan Carlos is dedicated to many community projects throughout Guanacaste, creating murals and conducting workshops.
