Born in Venezuela, Karina was captivated by art in all its expression from a very young age, with activities in music, painting, dance and crafts. Her arrival in Costa Rica in 2017 provided her with more opportunities to embrace nature, which inspires her to convey those feelings and expressions on canvas.
From the artist:
"Dance was my first passion. I have been a dancer since I was four years old specializing in Nationalist dances, folklore, Latin rhythms and flamenco. I grew up transforming my feelings and dreams into movements. Life gave me the opportunity to get to know more than my homeland when I moved Costa Rica, a wonderful land that captivated and adopted me, where I learned to live and love nature even more.
Currently, art is reborn in me through painting and by the hand of my husband, artist Carlos Hiller, whom I accompany in his world of art and environmental awareness.
I take my first steps in this new way of expressing with brushstrokes, my love and admiration for nature, portraying the fauna that we can experience daily in this country
