Lorena Villalobos is Costa Rican artist working fully within her cultural context. Balanced on the edge of abstraction, with one foot in nature and her brush on the pulse of woman's issues, she moves fluidly between figurative and abstract; often blurring the line. Lorena is a spontaneous creator who continually challenges herself with fresh outbursts of expression in any medium that she approaches. Oil on canvas, acrylic, drawing, woodblock carving, sculpture and an array of printing techniques.
Lorena Villalobos celebrating thirty years as a working artist, with more than fifty exhibition both national and international and her work is represented in major regional collections. This is contemporary work expressing the consistent voice of a practiced artist, firmly rooted in the beauty and wonder of nature.
