Rebeca Alvarado Soto
Rebeca Alvarado Soto, born in Costa Rica, is an artist based in Guanacaste for 5 years, a professional dancer, psychologist, and artist with a postgraduate degree in education. Her art combines the most varied techniques, working with beautiful textures that complement the multitudes of color in her works.Inspired by literature, psychoanalysis and her passionate of ballet, her works reflect this.
Painting is part of her daily life, having grown up with art, and is a creative act she needs to live and express imagination.Soto's exhibition opening February 18th at the Hidden Garden Art Gallery is called "Sirena," or "Mermaids," and contains works in oils, watercolor, acrylic, chalk, charcoal and other mixed media. The mermaid is a mythological character, the oldest dating from the Greek, whose charm is the voice. Sirena is the woman with the voice: serene, goddess of the sea, the moon, fertility and love.

Rebeca es una artista radicada en Guanacaste desde hace 5 años, es bailarina profesional, psicóloga, artista plástica y tiene un post grado en educación. Su Arte combina las más variadas técnicas y realiza una gran labor de búsqueda en texturas que complementa con bellísimos coloridos en sus obras.
La artista se inspira en la literatura, es apasionada del psicoanálisis y el ballet, por lo que sus obras serán reflejo de ello. La pintura es parte de su vida, de su cotidianidad, creció con ello, y no se imagina simplemente no hacerlo, es un acto creativo que necesita para vivir y expresar un poco de lo que imagina…
Su exposición se llama “Sirena” y posee obras al óleo, acuarela, acrílico, tiza, carboncillo y mixtas. La sirena es un personaje mitológico, las más antiguas datan de la época griega cuyo encanto es la voz. Sirena es la mujer con voz, serena, diosa del mar, de la Luna, la fecundidad y el amor.
